Her Story
Dawn Helwig started her corporate career as a part-time bank teller and worked her way up to customer service manager. All the while, she became a fitness instructor and taught aerobics. Dawn strongly believed in the mind-body-spirit connection and would one day build this, along with other concepts, into an employee experience consultancy.
In the middle of a promising career in banking, Dawn chose to put everything on hold, even declined a promotion, to care for her elderly father who had fallen into medical, legal, and financial hardship. While caring for her father, she founded Mutual Motivation with three business clients who needed an employee engagement consultant. Word quickly spread about her work and Dawn began receiving requests from hospitals, nonprofits, credit unions, fire departments, and community groups. One of the requests came from a medical center serving cancer patients for whom Dawn authored a booklet of poems entitled “Hope of the Heart” to comfort and assist the survivors on their healing journey.
Five years later, after her father passed and she had settled his affairs, Dawn resumed her corporate career while continuing her work through Mutual Motivation. She spent the next 20 years in corporate improving employee experience, customer care, and corporate culture at all levels of the organization.
Today, Dawn draws on her expertise in motivational speaking, employee experience, customer care, process improvement, mind-body wellness, and caregiving to take Mutual Motivation to her clients in all sectors — corporate, government, nonprofit, education, medical, community, and local businesses (for which she has a special affinity).
